Jhanvi is a Los Angeles based filmmaker from Mumbai and a graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory. Her films have been exhibited at New York Film Festival, AFI Fest, Deauville Film Festival and on platforms such as Netflix and HBO Max. In Fall '21 she produced her first feature film "At the Gates", in association with Beacon Pictures starring Ezekiel Pacheco, Vanessa Benavente, Noah Wyle and Miranda Otto. At The Gates was released theatrically by picturehouse in November 2023.
motla is an alum of film independent’s project involve program and nalip’s women of color incubator in partnership with netflix. Her most recent short film “Mirage” won the Grand Jury Prize at the 15th Santa Fe International Film Festival. CURRENTLY, Jhanvi is developing her directorial debut “The manager’s wife”. The script was workshopped as part of the 1497 features lab in 2023 and the film independent’s screenwriting lab in 2024.
